Material	Cobalt-Chromium (Co-Cr) or Stainless Steel. Note: Co-Cr is preferred for cemented stems to reduce metal debris.
Design Philosophy	Taper-Slip / Force-Closed: The stem is designed to "slip" or settle slightly into the cement mantle to create a tight, compressive lock.
Shape	Double or Triple Tapered Wedge: Tapers from top-to-bottom and side-to-side to convert downward force into radial compression.
Surface Finish	Mirror Polished (Smooth): Low roughness ($R_a < 0.1 \mu m$) allows the stem to settle into the cement without causing abrasion or "debonding" damage.
Collar Design	Collarless: Lack of a collar allows the stem to undergo "controlled subsidence" (settling) for long-term stability.
Fixation Method	Bone Cement (PMMA): Requires a uniform cement mantle (usually 2–3 mm thick) for even load distribution.
